We're Bal and Fiona - two Aussie mates who went through medical school together and somehow ended up obsessed with donuts instead. Hopstop Donuts started as a late-night idea: a box of simple, cinnamon-sugar donuts everyone could share, including the people we love who can't eat gluten and dairy. Turns out, we couldn't find one that ticked every box for us: light, fluffy, and fried fresh. So we set out to bring it to London. 

After more testing (and far too much "quality control") than we'll admit to, we took Hopstop to the markets of London in March 2025.

We weren't expecting what happened next. Word spread faster than we could fry. We’ve been slinging out our donuts at festivals, weddings, corporate offices and birthdays across the UK! 

But the compliment we hear most has nothing to do with being gluten-free. It's simply that this is a genuinely good donut: fluffy, light, nostalgic, the kind people say beats the regular version. We haven't chased fancy flavours or tried to reinvent the wheel. We kept it simple, because simple works best.

A year on, we're shipping across the UK, we've won a Gold at the 2026 Free From Food Awards, and we've got 7,500+ people backing us on socials. Not bad for two ex-doctors who got distracted by donuts.

We're genuinely grateful, to the gluten-free and gluten-tolerant alike, and we're only getting started.
